So, the last day of camp

I thought it was pretty chill, except for the end, which made me sad. T_T (See previous post)

In the morning, we went to Jamba Juice, a donut place, Starbucks, and Panda Express. I got a small Jamba Juice, blah blah blah, kind of boring, brought my ipod, had the music half volume, so I could still hear people talking.

But wait, let's go back to the first hour (and a half) that we spent in the cave. I was, again, listening to my ipod. Madeline and Jasmine looked through my music, Jasmine the whole time saying how she knew none of the bands I like and being surprised that I have a song from a band called "Orgy." Then, a bit later, Nathan randomly goes "Sequoia! Hey." And that's all. Random, I know. Then Madeline tried to figure out my ipod passcode, but I confiscated it before she could disable it. σ_σ Angelica gushed over how much she would miss us, while I just dribbled this Disney Princess ball we randomly have in The Cave and listened to music.

While we ate lunch, everyone was invited to Seth's house to watch some movie or other, but I know my parents would never let me do that unless they knew the person, the person's parents, phone number, etc. Kind of made me sad. Jasmine also told me Ysabelle had a crush on Nathan, and Ysabelle told her last Friday. Ysabelle didn't deny this, she actually confirmed it, but later said she didn't have a crush on him. [Anymore]

Teenagers are so fickle.

I am sad.

Everyone exchanged phone numbers with at least one person.

Except me.

It's not like I was mean. In fact, people said I was one of the two in the group that were actually sane.

Seth got everyone's number except mine.

It's funny, because I miss them.

What did I do wrong?

Summer Camp

For now, let me just give you some brief profile on the people in my camp, so I won't have to explain during the 'story.' (I'll only put gender if name is unisex)

Angelica - Wavy dark brown hair, really nice, doesn't like to sit in silence, fun to joke with, 16 years old.
Katie - Friends with Angelica, short brown hair, aspires to be a hairstylist, 16.
Nathan - Brown hair, tall, usually wearing baseball hat, just so happens to play the sport, 15 (?) years old.
Sam - Blondish hair, plays soccer tall, talks just a little too much, 15 (?) years old.
Seth - Friends with Nathan, tall, likes to swear, African American, gets angry, but half jokingly, 16.
Ysabelle - Long, wavy-ish black hair, Asian decent, quiet, pretty cool person, 14.
Jasmine - Friends with Nathan and Seth, wavy/curly brown hair, laughs a lot, 16 (?).
Madeline - Wavy blonde hair, kind of annoying, laughs a lot, joke rivalry with Seth, 13.
Trey - Tall, black hair/brown eyes, quiet, likes to draw, 16 (?).

Now that that's over with... Let me tell you about my camp. We're all teens who are Leaders in Training, 'LITs.' We work with the younger kids in their camps, basically for people who want to be counselors, but none of us really have plans to do so in the future... The camp is two weeks long, tomorrow is the last day. We spend the mornings in this small classroom being trained by 'Zeebo' (Sebastian). In the afternoons, we're set free to work with kids. Now, let me tell you about yesterday and last Friday.

Yesterday, Swim Day
Every Wednesday is swim day. Now, I hate swimming, with the kids, in any case. All the LITs do. I find the ordeal extra embarrassing, because I'm an insecure 13 year old among a bunch of awesome/secure older people. So, in my group (kinder cubs, kindergartner/1st grade) is Ysabelle, Jasmine, and Sam. Jasmine, Sam, and I all got in the pool when the kids did. Danielle, one of the kids, basically wanted me to swim around in the kiddie pool with here the whole time, so I did... After, the kids went to this little water park thing right next to it, and after awhile, I went back to change. Nathan, who was sitting with a couple of kids from his camp near my stuff, said "Hey, girlfriend!" In this really girly/stupid voice. I found this embarrassing, told him to shut up, then grabbed my stuff and left to change as he was doing that "What did I do???" routine. I'm going to leave it up to you to guess why I found this so embarrassing, but like it says in "Just a note," your assumption may be wrong. So, after we got back, I found a real knife behind the counter at kinder cubs. And not just a butter knife, I might add. But that's not the big part. At some point, I hear Jasmine tell Ysabelle "Baseball is the new code word." I ignored this, or course. Then, a bit later, 2 people had to stay for clean up, while the other 2 went to the park for the remaining 15 minutes we were there. Jasmine volunteered, originally, but it somehow got changed to Ysabelle. Jasmine was snickering at her and giving some evil sort of smile. Ysabelle just told her to shut up, while Jasmine kept asking her if she liked baseball, as we left. So, left behind were Sam and Ysabelle, while Jasmine and I were going to the park. Of course, I suspected something going on between all this, so I was trying to get Jasmine to tell me. I got through my thick skull pretty quickly that either Sam like Ysabelle or the other way around. Turns out, I was right. Jasmine suspected Sam of having a crush on Ysabelle, and had fair evidence. When we went back to the classroom for the last 30 minutes of the day, where we have to fill out our 'leadership logs', me, then Seth worked out that 'baseball' was code for 'Sam,' thus explaining Ysabelle denying any enjoyment in the sport. Sam, trying to figure it out, thought it might have to do with Nathan, since he plays baseball, but I told him it wasn't... SO, that 's the end of that day. Now, let's move onto

Last Friday
(A lot happened that I don't remember, so let's just fast forward to the last 30 minutes in "The Cave")
Angelica asked a simple question, basic for all Fridays. "So, what are you guys doing over the weekend?" Nathan immediately responds with "You don't wanna know." Still half laughing from some joke someone told. Angelica kind of half covered her face and sort of blushed. "There's only two things it could be..." After a pause of silence over the room, she continued. "Sports, or sex." At which point it was my turn to blush, though I don't believe I actually blushed; just felt like I would have if I blushed easily. Seth, who, keep in mind, has known Nathan for ten years, said "You're probably going to get high or drink." I, the innocent 13 year old fresh-from-North-Dakota girl was all the time thinking, "WOAH WOAH WOAH hold on a minute! A 14/15 year old?? Doing WAT?" Nathan said "Nah, I've been clean for a year."

I don't know. Not that much of an ending. Sex, drugs, and alcohol just took me by surprise. Hm.
Hopefully I'll have something to report about the last day, tomorrow!
